Survival Worldwide, the worldwide motion for tribal peoples, is delighted to announce the successful entries for its 2021 calendar picture competitors.
Open to amateurs and professionals alike, the competitors known as for entries on the theme of “Resilience and Satisfaction.” It goals to have a good time images as a strong medium for elevating consciousness of tribal peoples.
The successful picture is by Yoeme, A:shiwi, and Rarámuri photographer Tomás Karmelo Amaya, depicting matriarchs from varied backgrounds and tribal affiliations gathering in a tipi for a ladies’s assembly. The picture was taken on the resistance camp in opposition to the Dakota Entry Pipeline in North Dakota, on the ancestral homelands of the Očeti Šakówiŋ.
